What’s on?

The first Sunday of the month is a festive one here at the Alum Ale House. Featuring a live ensemble of local folk musicians, playing a variety of Irish-themed tunes, enjoy a lively afternoon at this hugely popular event! We also provide a scrumptious selection hot and cold food on the bar.

On the first Tuesday of the month, from 3PM, we host a renowned cheese and wine club. Members can bring along a block of their favourite cheese, alongside any snacks or food to share. We’ll provide a selection of fine wines to taste, as selected by the group! Why not pop along and sample some fine wines and cheese?

Every year, we host a private party to send the year off! We provide a cheeseboard for every table, food, and entertainment throughout the evening. To welcome the new year, we also provide a toast for every customer, alongside the best fireworks display in town, bar none! Tickets are available for purchase nearer the end of the year, but act fast! Places are limited and in high demand.

Funeral wakes, surprise birthday parties, charity nights… we cater for them all. If you have an event or a gathering planned, we’d be more than happy to host it. We can also provide an at-cost buffet too.

‘We had my Dad's wake here yesterday and felt the need to write a review as they went out of their way to make it as lovely as possible. From the amazing service from the friendly staff to the wonderful spread of food they put on. Everything was perfect. They let us bring a bottle of my Dad's whiskey and sherry for every one to have a welcome drink and toast to my Dad. They had all the outdoor fire pits on for us. And even let us put his favourite playlist on their music system. We basically had the run of the pub. Every one was so kind and understanding. This was my Dad's favourite pub and its easy to see why. Thank you so much for everything.’
